The Organ reached its second birthday Labor Day weekend. It’s easy to indulge ourselves with some very good vibes, and also there’s an obligation to assess our progress and provide some reflection about where the future will take us.
This past year saw tremendous growth in our readership, not to mention my success in obtaining press credentials with my lawsuit against Governor O’Malley. Now of course, we’re started our radio program last Sunday evening. It’s been fun, and should only get better.
I started this project two years ago, mainly to weigh in on the upcoming presidential election in 2008, and other serious matters that I felt were important enough to warrant an opine or two. The blog has evolved into a lot more than that. My partner in crime, Joe Velisek, has been superb in posting the pop culture segments, historical anecdotes, and book reviews, as well as his commentaries. The Organ couldn’t operate without him.
Also, kudos to Al Goldstein for his superb sports writing. His columns have been fantastic, and each week he reminds us through his expertise and wisdom that his generation of writers will continue to observe the unique characters and notable events that have shaped our lives. He’s “old school” and I’m lucky to have him on the Organ.
