For those of you who have December 27th circled in your calendars as the Trump Debate – there has been a slight programming change. At this point in time only Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum will be joining the Donald – the other Republican candidates – well, they won’t be there - so the “debate” has been scaled down to a “chat”. (On the two-way communication definition scale – “chatting” fits in between “jabbering” and “yammering”.)

Comedian, actor and writer, Steven Alexander Wright, was born on December 6th, 1955, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Trying to describe or define Wright’s unique laconic comedic style would take too many words, the opposite of Wright’s “technique” – who in a line or two can encapsulate a situation or a thread of logic with incredible insight; making you think and cracking you up at the same time - Which is a good thing.

Actor and comedian, Richard Franklin Lennox Thomas Pryor III, was born on December 1st, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois, where he grew up in his grandmother’s brothel, which was his mother’s place of employment. The terms “trail-blazer”, “one of a kind” and “comic genius” are overused terms, but in Pryor’s case they are applicable. Because somehow through all his adversity – and there was plenty of it in Pryor’s life – he was able to teach us while also being incredibly funny – many times at his own expense.

Stand-up comedian, actor – who can forget his role in Big Daddy – and now host of The Daily Show, Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz was born on November 28th, 1962 in New York City. Although satirical, Stewart’s “fake news show” has become a watch-dog of sorts, keeping the mainstream news organizations honest when they meander off the “fair and balanced” path while also pointing out the absurd in our current events. And if one decides to appear as a guest on The Daily Show in the hopes that Stewart won’t ask any tough questions – think again – Stewart does his homework.

Jacob Cohen, aka Rodney Dangerfield - a name used by Jack Benny on his radio show for a cowboy character - was born on November 22, 1921 in Babylon, New York. Comedian, actor and of course the man who “got no respect”; Rodney’s career spanned almost 60 years. He got his first big break on The Ed Sullivan Show, appeared on Carson 35 times, starred in the films Caddyshack, Back to School and Easy Money and opened his own comedy club in NY where up and coming comics Jerry Seinfeld, Sam Kinison, Tim Allen, Roseanne Barr, and Jeff Foxworthy got their first taste of the “big time”.
